After spending a sad Hari Raya on my own last year, I am sooooo glad to be able to make it for the celebrations with my family in Singapore. Unfortunately, the hubby could not make it … but still … that did not dampen the happiness I felt at being able to be with my family on this blessed occasion.
As I had not told any of my family about my arrival except for my younger sister whom I would be staying with (even then I only told her two days before I was due to arrive) … it was a shock to them … albeit a happy one … to see me suddenly making my raya visit yesterday, the first day of Eid in Singapore … hehehe … 🙂
My eldest sister was especially overwhelmed with emotion as it so happened that the first day of Eid this year fell on her birthday. So she was extremely happy to see me home to celebrate this double celebration. And I have to say that at every home that I went to yesterday … I was well and truly fed with all the delicious festive and non-festive food which I had been missing! I lurveee it!!
But … not to worry Ta … I still remember your warning before I left … and I promise I will … try … not to … get fat eating too much in this festive season! hehehe … 🙂
So all to my Muslim visitors celebrating Eid (or Raya in Malay) … let me wish all of you … Selamat Hari Raya … Eid Mubarak … Id Moubarak! And may we get to meet Ramadan again, next year!
